Friends of Ada Hayden Heritage Park

The Friends of Ada Hayden Heritage Park is a group of citizens who appreciate the variety of opportunities provided by the park and wish to help assure its continued success.

Friends Group Mission:

• To partner with community members and city government to enhance the park’s natural environment

• To support public awareness, educational programs, and research efforts

• To secure supplemental financial resources that may be used by the City of Ames for projects selected by the Parks and Recreation Commission and approved by the City Council

• To build connections between recreation, learning, and appropriate public use of the park

• To develop a network of supporters and volunteers to assist with management, restoration, and protection.

The Friends group was incorporated as a non-profit organization on July 8, 2010, and was approved as a 501(c)3 organization by the Internal Revenue Service soon after. It elected its first Board of Directors on August 5, 2010.
