The Friends of Ada Hayden Heritage Park is a group of citizens who appreciate the variety of opportunities provided by the park and wish to help assure its continued success.
To partner with community members and city government to enhance the park’s natural environment
To support public awareness, educational programs, and research efforts
To secure supplemental financial resources that may be used by the City of Ames for projects selected by the Parks and Recreation Commission and approved by the City Council
To build connections between recreation, learning, and appropriate public use of the park
To develop a network of supporters and volunteers to assist with management, restoration, and protection.
The Friends group was incorporated as a non-profit organization on July 8, 2010, and was approved as a 501(c)3 organization by the Internal Revenue Service soon after. It elected its first Board of Directors on August 5, 2010.
